| Dull Event of the Month |
Robert's Rules Day, May 2
Nothing takes the spark out of a meeting more than when someone stands up and forces the members to adhere to Robert's Rules of Order.
No one in the room likes it -- unless there is a Dull Man at the meeting. You should see the Dull Man's face light up. Finally, there is something going on in the room that he can feel pleased with. He likes order, predictability -- and of course lack of excitement. One problem that we should confess, however, is that on the National Council of Dull Men, so far we have no parliamentarian -- no expert trained on Robert's Rules of Order -- as a member. If there are any parliamentarians out there that would like to submit his name (and résumé) for us to consider, please email it to us. To learn more about the Rules -- their history and the authors (Dull?) -- you can click here or on the image below, and soon you will be at the Official Web site of Robert's Rules of Order.

In closing, please note that you probably can find happiness in applying Robert's Rules of Order in as many of your daily activities as you can. |
