48th Annual Virginia Peanut Festival — September 23-26, 2010 — Emporia, Virginia
The Peanut Festival celebrates the growing of peanuts in the southeastern counties of Virginia — from Greensville County to the city of Suffolk as well as into northeastern North Carolina.
A highlight of the festival is the Virgina Peanut Festival Parade along Main Street of Emporia. The website says the parade will have five or six high school bands, political candidates, and other entieres.
Other festivial events: Peanut Farm Tour 5K Race, Duck Race, Beauty Pagent.
